What is TMS Treatment?

TMS treatment targets the prefrontal cortex, which is the key area in the brain that controls mood. This area is under active when someone is suffering from major depression. Focused magnetic pulses are used to stimulate the prefrontal cortex. This magnetic therapy restores normal function and reduces the symptoms of depression.

Some antidepressant medications cause unpleasant side effects. With TMS treatment, you will be free of those side effects. During a session, you will have a non-invasive device containing a magnetic coil placed on your head while sitting in a treatment chair. You may hear a clicking sound and feel a tapping sensation during your magnetic therapy session.
